Elijah Rock - College of Charleston Gospel Choir

The smell of the sea is different here.
Her tidal landscape fecund with life beginning,
life ending and life becoming.

She is womb, cradle and grave to a 300 year pageant of people and ideas their glory and their tragedy.

Her progeny arriving on the tides have spawned great stories of glory and tragedy

New beginnings have sprung from her as epic as they are seminal to the foundation of our nation.

There is no soil more rich with the blood
spilled for ideas and ideals, no place more sacrificed to the ebb and flow of time or grander dreams dreamed than here in this place called Charleston
